Khanewal: Jahangir Khan Tareen has said that education is the foundation of progress and prosperity for any society. Providing talented students with quality educational facilities is an urgent need so that they can align themselves with modern-day requirements and effectively serve the nation.
He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Talamba, on the occasion of the inauguration of a modern Technology Block. The Technology Block includes a state-of-the-art science and computer laboratory aimed at enhancing students’ academic and technical skills.
On the occasion, Jahangir Khan Tareen announced the establishment of a Girls’ Degree College in Mian Channu and stated that five acres of land have already been dedicated for the college.
He further announced that science and computer laboratories in 50 government schools across Tehsil Mian Channu will be upgraded at an estimated cost of Rs. 70 million.
It is worth mentioning that previously, through the Tareen Education Foundation, science and computer laboratories have been established in various educational institutions across District Khanewal at a cost of Rs. 110 million. These institutions include Khanewal Public School, Government Model Boys Higher Secondary School, Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kacha Khoh, Government Girls Model High School Mian Channu, and Government Boys High School Chak 27/10-R.
Among those who addressed the inaugural ceremony were Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Khanewal Ghulam Mustafa Sahi, Assistant Commissioner Mian Channu Sajida Razzaq, Chief Executive Officer Education Fayyaz Sindhu, Chief Executive Officer of Tareen Education Foundation Akbar Khan, and Principal Irshad Bibi, along with other officials.
