Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a reduction in petroleum prices, providing relief to the public. Petrol prices have been decreased by Rs. 12 per litre, while diesel has seen a significant cut of Rs. 135 per litre. The new rates are approximately Rs. 366 per litre for petrol and Rs. 385 per litre for diesel. These prices came into effect from April 11, 2026, after midnight. The reduction comes amid a slight drop in global oil prices and increasing public pressure. It is expected to help lower transportation costs and provide some relief from inflation.
