In order to promote Digital Learning, Jahangir Khan Tareen Inaugurated State-of-the-Art Computer Lab at Government Graduate College of Science, Wahdat Road

Lahore: In a significant step towards providing modern educational facilities to youth and promoting digital learning, Jahangir Khan Tareen inaugurated a state-of-the-art computer lab at Government Graduate College of Science, Wahdat Road. The project has been completed at an estimated cost of PKR 12 million.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Jahangir Khan Tareen said that nothing gives him greater satisfaction than seeing young people equipped with modern education. He added that the confidence, progress and success of students are a source of immense satisfaction for him.

He stated that children from well off families generally study in private educational institutions, while students with limited resources are enrolled in government schools and colleges. If Pakistan’s education system is to be strengthened, government institutions must also be provided with the same standard of facilities that are available to the children of the privileged class.

Jahangir Khan Tareen said that good initiatives are always followed by others and meaningful change in the education sector can only be achieved when people with the means contribute towards educational development. He emphasized that the path to progress goes through education alone.

“I am where I am today because of hard work and perseverance,” he said. “If young people pursue their goals with passion, dedication and discipline, they can achieve success in every field of life.”

He further stated that these computer labs have also been solarized to ensure uninterrupted educational facilities for students, so that their learning remains unaffected by power outages or other disruptions.

On the occasion, Akbar Khan, Chief Executive Officer of Tareen Education Foundation, announced that the Foundation would take full responsibility for the maintenance of the computer lab for the next three years. He also revealed that the Tareen Institute of Computer Education and Resources is being established in Lodhran at a cost of approximately PKR 2.5 billion, which will play a significant role in promoting modern technology education.

In his address, Dr. Ansar Azhar, DPI Colleges Punjab, encouraged students to make full use of the modern computer lab, noting that the importance of digital education has never been greater than it is today.

The ceremony was attended by Professor Ahsan Mumtaz, Director Colleges Lahore, Dr. Ansar Azhar, DPI Colleges Punjab, Acting Principal Zahid Bhatti, representatives of Tareen Education Foundation, faculty members and a large number of students.
